Sovereign nations must have a secure and established border. We should all be able to agree with that statement, but how we implement the action is where we seem to be divided. Lets have a discussion together, but first, let me share my personal view.

We are a nation of laws and immigrants. The Constitution is the law of our land and Lady Liberty calls for the weak, tired, and poor who yearn to breath free. It is essential that those who seek the American Dream should have a clear path and compassionate people willing to help them achieve the steps of legal immigration. We cannot and I will not demonize those who seek what many of us were born into. We need brave and honorable men and women to answer the call of ethical and diligent protection of our borders.  We need to look deep into our soul as a nation and find a better solution. I have some ideas and look forward to sharing them in videos for us to discuss together.

When Citizens United was first approved by Congress, many of us saw the writing on the wall and knew where it would lead. Decades later, we have seen our worries become reality. Corporate donors and PACs have degraded the peoples' ability to have honorable representation.

This was one of the first issues that ever got my attention and began my endeavor of being informed and involved with politics. We have seen how much money can influence an election and when endless money can flow into elections, the people suffer. Individuals should be able to donate a limited amount, but corporations should not be able to spend a dime. I will never consider a corporation a person, because I have never shook the hand of one. If I can only achieve one thing in office, this is the one that I will pursue relentlessly until my final hour. We must end Citizens United and adjust our campaign finance laws accordingly.

I have an idea that I look forward to proposing in a video where we can have this discussion together, but let me start by saying that the cost of housing and general expense of living has gotten out of reach for many Americans, myself included. I feel this pain, and I know many reading this can relate.

Not every one shares the same American Dream, but we all need shelter and groceries. I have an idea that uses a combination of historically proven programs and policies while also creating a bar of competition for private equity. We have to end the greed of Wall Street and their desire to buy out properties to keep the American people a step behind. Many of us cannot compete with their bottomless pockets and buying power.

My passion is nature. I work as a river guide and will still be rowing down rivers every chance I can for the rest of my life. However, I have witnessed the destruction and degradation of our most valuable commodities that literally provide us with life. We are caretakers of this planet, it is not ours to control, but to preserve for the future inhabitants. Our planet needs us, and we need it.

East Tennessee's rivers, mountains, and forests are our heritage and our economy. I will be damned before I ever allow private equity to steal our public lands. I have lived across this nation and spent more time outside that I have indoors during my adult life. I grew up in the woods, I work on the rivers, I find God speaks through the trees, but you first have to listen. I will fight to protect our land, air, and water to my dying breath. There will be no compromise, we must act now.

We are the wealthiest nation on the planet, yet we spend money in ways that project strength without actually creating it. Yes, our military needs everything they require to protect global trade and democracy. However, what good is having a display of strength when the nation itself weakens? We need to invest into Americans domestic needs and cut back our senseless campaigns of military destruction.

Corporate subsidies and contractors are robbing the American workers of healthcare, infrastructure, and education. When we spend money on bombs, we neglect the people they are meant to protect. Americans need money invested into the critical departments to ensure we can thrive at home. We can have both a healthy and prosperous domestic working class while still maintaining the worlds most powerful military. The lust for war must end, the rebuilding of America needs to begin.

Investing in America means more than buying materials and building structures. It means providing for the American people and having a healthy work force. When the working class thrives, our economy soars and communities prosper.

A better economy creates better opportunities for our children to pursue. I believe the citizens of our nation deserve leaders who put them front and center. When we have to work multiple jobs to barely get by, then only the wealthy elite benefit. We should all be able to enjoy the fruits of our labors and for those who want to rise as business owners, I will be there to support the path.
